1- A carpenter agrees to work on the condition that he is paid 2 units for everyday that he works, while he forfeits 3 units for everyday that he does not work. At the end of 30 days he finds that he has paid out exactly as much as he has received. How many days did he work?

3- On a fine sunny day a ship was in the harbor. All of a sudden the ship began to sink. There was no storm and nothing wrong with the ship yet it sank right in front of the spectators eyes.

What caused the ship to sink?

5- Farmer Joe came to town with some watermelons. He sold half of them plus half a melon, and found that he had one whole melon left. How many melons did he take to town?
